ABOUT the authors
One of the things that makes our children's book unique is that it is illustrated by a seven-year-old boy, Benjamin Chew, and was written by a mother/educator duo: Susan Poage, an award-winning first grade classroom teacher and mother-of-two; and Dr. Dina Rosen, a Professor of Education and mother-of-three.
Susan Poage is a first grade teacher in her adopted hometown of Berkeley Heights, NJ. Her favorite part of teaching is reading stories to help her students develop as readers and writing stories for her students to help them develop as storytellers. In 2010, Ms. Poage received the Presidential Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
Dina Rosen is a professor of Early Childhood Education. She lives in New Jersey with her family. Dr. Rosen teaches a variety of courses that prepare teachers for success in the classroom, from curriculum development to family-school partnerships. She hopes this book helps children become more comfortable with mask wearing and helps families engage in conversations about social distancing practices. While Dr. Rosen has authored many professional publications and regularly presents at local, national and international conferences, this is Dr. Rosen's first published children's book.
